Sujit Deshpande

Every level of the company is co-led by a clinician and an administrator, as peers. Neither track reports to the other, and where a decision affects patient safety the clinical partner decides.
Infrastructure
Equipment most of the market cannot reach
Radiotherapy delivered on a linear accelerator. Surgical theatres, intensive care, ultrasound, endoscopy and in-house pathology.
Referral depth is a capital question as much as a clinical one. The group operates the equipment a single practice cannot justify, and makes it reachable from every clinic in the network without a referral fee changing hands.
How we govern
Two tracks. Neither reports to the other.
The structure is written down rather than assumed. It is the part of the company that does not move when commercial pressure arrives.
The founding principle
Patient safety, then quality, then finance.
The tie-break order, group-wide, in that sequence. It is the rule that settles the arguments nobody enjoys having.
Clinical standards
Thirteen disciplines, thirteen chairs
A council chair sets the medical standard for a discipline and is clinically accountable for every case in it, at every site.
A council chair sets the medical standard for a discipline and is clinically accountable for every case in it, at every site. The standard does not vary by city, by building, or by who is on shift.
The academy
IIVS — the International Institute of Veterinary Specialization
Wholly owned by the group. Fourteen disciplines, on a ladder that runs from a PG certificate to specialist.
Teaching is delivered digitally, with clinical rotations through the network. Faculty come from the group's own bench. India has plenty of veterinarians and very few specialists; the academy exists to change that ratio rather than to compete for it.

Two group businesses will operate departments at Small Animal Hospital, Mumbai
The Eye Vet and The Cancer Vet have entered into agreements to establish and operate full ophthalmology and oncology departments at the Tata Trusts hospital.
From 28 September 2026, both departments provide the complete range of specialist services on site, including surgery and chemotherapy, under the hospital's overall oversight. They are led by the clinicians who founded the businesses, both internationally board-certified.

What is different about practising here
Teaching counts as part of the job rather than as something done after it. Every specialty is led by the clinician who founded it, and Specialty Council chairs are accountable for the standard in their discipline at every site.
